We spent this past Saturday at an Apple Festival. I didn’t know apples could bring about such festivity, but they can.
It didn’t take long to figure out why they decided to call it an Apple Festival.
They also had pumpkins. Elliott said no one had been born big enough to carry this one, but an elephant could. Thank God we didn’t bring an elephant along.
The boys had their first cup of cider – in a Pepsi cup?
For five bucks they got a pass to climb on as much straw and hay as they wanted. I remember passing days away doing that for free. Inflation.
Sometimes the top of a bale of straw is as close as a young boy gets to feeling like a king.
The only king Ian wanted to be was one sitting on a tractor. So Ian did what Ian does when he wants to sit on a tractor. He heads for the closest tractor.
Maybe he knew our hayride would have scenery like this.
Or that he’d be able to run and find his own hill to be king of.
It was a great family day for all of us.
